How It Works

Full in 2 hours. Four steps.

  1. 1

Drop the cells into the charger

Place your SCIGOLD AA 1.5V Li-ion cells into the CW505 4-slot or CW508 8-slot charger, matching the + and − terminals shown in each slot. The smart chip recognizes SCIGOLD cells automatically.

  2. 2

    Connect any USB-C power source

Plug a USB-C cable into the charger and connect it to any 5V/3A source — a phone wall charger, laptop USB-C port, GaN brick, power bank, or car charger. No proprietary adapter needed.

  3. 3

    Watch the per-cell status display

The LCD (CW505) or per-slot LED (CW508) shows each cell charging independently. A nearly empty cell and a half-full one both charge to their own correct 1.5V target and stop when done.

  4. 4

    Done in about 2 hours

Four cells charge from empty to full in roughly 2 hours at 5V/3A. Charging stops automatically when each cell is full — the Smart Protection System guards against over-charge, over-temperature, and short-circuit, so it is safe to leave plugged in.

Frequently Asked

Quick answers, before you buy.

Can I use these AA cells without a SCIGOLD charger?

You need a compatible charger to recharge them. These are bare cells with no case included. They recharge in the SCIGOLD CW505 4-slot or CW508 8-slot smart chargers, or any USB-C-input 1.5V lithium AA dock that follows the standard charging profile. The cells themselves drop straight into any AA device.

What charger do I need for the SCIGOLD AA cells-only pack?

Any SCIGOLD 1.5V lithium AA charger works: the CW505 4-slot case or the CW508 8-slot case. Both use USB-C input and recognize these cells automatically. If you already own either charger, this 4-pack simply expands your fleet without paying for a second charging case.

Why buy bare cells instead of the full kit with a charger?

If you already own a SCIGOLD charger, the cells-only pack is the economical way to grow your battery supply. You skip the cost of a duplicate charging case and just add four more 4,440 mWh cells. It is ideal for households adding devices or replacing aging cells in an existing fleet.

How much capacity does each AA cell hold?

Each cell delivers 4,440 mWh, SGS-verified under the IEC 61960-3 standard. That is the same flagship chemistry shipped in the full AA Li-ion Kit. Output is a flat, regulated 1.5V, so devices run at full performance until the cell is nearly empty rather than dimming as alkalines do.

Are these a true drop-in replacement for alkaline AA batteries?

Yes. They output a flat, regulated 1.5V, matching what AA devices expect from disposable alkalines. Use them in remotes, cameras, toys, smart locks, and game controllers. Unlike 1.2V NiMH rechargeables, there is no voltage drop, so high-drain electronics see full power throughout the discharge.

How many times can each cell be recharged?

Each cell is rated for 1,600-plus charge cycles to 80 percent capacity. At normal household use that translates to years of service per cell, replacing hundreds of disposable alkalines. Maximum discharge is 3A per cell, enough for high-drain gear like digital cameras and game controllers.
